The TQC Bresle Kit - Chloride Test Kit includes all the necessary equipment for assessing the level of soluble salts on blast-cleaned surfaces prior to coating. The TQC Bresle Kit - Chloride Test Kit is complying with the ISO 8502-6 that describes the a method of extracting, for analysis, soluble contaminants from a surface by use of flexible cells in the form of adhesive bresle patches or Bresle sampler, which can be attached to any surface, regardless of its shape and its orientation. The method described is suitable for use in the field to determine the presence of soluble contaminants before painting or a similar treatment. Inside the TQC Bresle Kit - Chloride Test Kit is a conductivity gauge used for the assessment of soluble salt ions as chlorides, sulphates and nitrates. The Bresle Method described in the ISO 8502-6 and ISO 8502-9 standard, states that the conductivity is mainly directly proportional to the concentration of dissolved chloride ions in the solution.
Contamination of blast-media:
The TQC Bresle Kit - Chloride Test Kit can also be used to determine the contamination of blast-media in use. A too high level of salts in the recycled abrasive media or water can re-contaminate the surface being cleaned. Two standards ISO 11127-6 and ISO 11127-7 describe the determination of water-soluble contaminants by conductivity measurement and the determination of water-soluble chlorides.
Scope of supply:

The TQC Bresle Patch is used to test surfaces in accordance with ISO 8502-6 and ISO 8502-9, which specify tests using TQC Bresle Patches as the Bresle Method of extracting the soluble salts from the test surfaces. The TQC Bresle Patch from the TQC Bresle KIT is adhered to the test surface and distilled water is pumped into the Bresle Patch using a syringe. The water is flushed between the TQC Bresle Patch and the substrate, which causes the soluble salts on the test surface to be dissolved into the water.
Important with this Bresle Method is that all distilled water with dilluted salts is retrieved from the Patches. Obviousely any leakage of the solution from the TQC Bresle Patch during pumping and flushing will cause the final result, that is measured with a conductivity gauge, to be inaccurate. Therefore the ISO 8502-6 Bresle Method states that the Patch must be able to resist a certain amount of inflation without leaking the dilluted salt solution.
Other inaccuracy issues may arrise when Patches are contaminated during production by using inferior materials or because of contaminated production facilities. The TQC Bresle Patch is garanteed free from any contamination as all patches are made of high class materials that are washed prior to manufacturing and produced in a contamination free production facility. All TQC Bresle Patches come with a declaration of conformity and an ISO 17025 accredited test laboratory certificate can be supplied on request.
