The Cross Hatch Cutter is for assessing the resistance of paint coatings to separation from substrates when a right angled lattice pattern is cut into the coating, penetrating through to the substrate, it can also be viewed for adhesion between coating layers.There are two ways to assess performance, as a Pass/Fail test or graded as described, the respective National Standards stated listed below refers.Suitable for coatings applied onto flat surfaces and a thickness up to 250 microns.A high precision machined tip presenting 6 or 11cutting blades with various spacing is mounted ina handle. The test is carried out by performing one sets of (6 or 11 dependant on cutter selected)followed by another set of cuts at right angles to the first set.The obtained lattice is either brushed or cleared by applying and removing adhesive tape. Digital Coating Thickness Gauge – ElcoTest FNF
Our new high specification Coating thickness Gauge is the ultimate tool for measuring the thickness of paint, the thickness of coatings and the thickness of powder coatings on all types of metal substrates in the field of coatings inspection equipment and supply a range of quality inspection equipment.
The gauge will measure coatings on ferrous (iron, steel) and non-ferrous substrates (aluminium). The gauge will sense the substrate under the coating and will switch automatically to the ferrous or non-ferrous measurement setting.
The gauge can be easily switched to measure and display readings in either in metric or imperial units of measurement.
The gauge has a “flip” function that allows the user to turn the gauge through 180 degrees so that it can be used upside down for ease of reading at different angles.
